Yowie Trackway Found Along Munna Creek QLD

Yowie footprints have proven to be very difficult to find over the years but several of the Yowie Sightings team have found prints while conducting site surveillance at Munna Creek in QLD recently.

Since receiving several Yowie Sightings reports this year (2022) we have been monitoring several sites along a 65km stretch of the Munna Creek system. The Munna Creek system runs through several well-documented Yowie sighting locations including Glenbar State Forest and National Park, Marodian (Smothering Creek Yowie sighting), Calgoa (Calgoa Creek Yowie Sighting), Miva, and Teebar.

Footprints measured

The photo below is one of several prints found in a trackway at one of our monitoring sites. The footprint in the photo measures approximately 17inches (43cm) and a set of smaller prints was also found that measured approximately 13inches (33cm). We puzzled over the prints for several reasons such as whether they were simply human footprints and they also appeared to be somewhat narrower in the toes than some of the other prints we have found at other sites. We came to the opinion that it would be highly unlikely (but possible) someone would be walking barefoot in this location due to its remoteness and large numbers of snakes. The other factor ruling out human prints, at least for the larger prints is that the height of the person would have had to be 8ft tall!

That's really interesting. Its got me thinking about big impressions we found in mud on a remote part of our property last Christmas. We sought of brushed it off as cattle prints but they were very different to anything Ive ever seen and we've been hearing loud noises at night that we thought was a sick cow but when we look during the day none of the cattle are in distress. Hope you have some more luck with your endeavour!!.

We live at Boompa which is near Teebar and we have had a few incidents around our property that we thought were strange and so have our neighbors. Rocks hitting our roof at night and our horses getting really spooked in the early morning over several weeks has been the latest things going on. May not be anything but have you had any reports from our area? I would be interested to know. Kind Regards, Justine Nelson

I read this report and the others you have published with a lot of interest. Back a few months ago I found a dead deer on the property I was working on which is located in the area of the reports you have listed. The deer had had its neck broken and all its organs removed leaving just the empty carcass. I couldn't for the life of me work out how the deer was killed like this and who would have done it..

I was working with a few fellas on a property bordering the Miva State Forest and we kept hearing loud whistling noises around our camp through the nights we were there. We thought it was people messing with us but highly unlikely due to our location. Strange thing was the whistles were a combination of short sharp whistles and then some longer ones, and these would go back and forth from around our camp. The last night we were there we decided we would go and look through the bush with torches but didn't find anything. Do yowies whistle?
