That poor woman. I almost had tears in my eyes as she described what happened and how she felt. Did she find their dog?

Hi Katrina, thanks for the comment. Julie was overwhelmed by her experience and found it difficult to tell us about all that has been happening which she didn't link together until she was confronted with the Yowie. She still hasn't found her dog, unfortunately. Cheers, Susan

Very interesting account and I don't blame her for wanting to move out. Did the neighbor have anything going on at his place?

Hi Gavin, thanks for the comment! I don't blame Julie either for wanting to get out of there. We spoke to the neighbour. He mentioned a few things he has noticed which he thought nothing of until Julie told him everything that was going on at her place. He found a shed door broken open on one of his sheds that looked like something had run into it a sit was so badly deformed. he also had some beehives destroyed. he's starting to think about what did these things. Cheers, Susan

This doesn’t surprise me, growing up in Nanango 60klms South of Goomeri, a lot of strange things happens in the South Burnett, it’s pretty much common knowledge not to go out by yourself and always be on alert. They’re obviously very intimidating but as she stated, she never felt any fear or bad feelings at the property until actually visually seeing him, they’ve been here from the start they’re just curious. It’s amazing they aren’t acknowledged as real flesh and blood beings, the only way the ordinary person will believe is if a body is produced which is going to be very unlikely, cheers

Yowie Sightings
Hi Troy, thanks for the comment! I share your sentiments about the Yowie although I think it would be unwise to believe they are just curious. There have been quite a number of encounters that have been violent in varying degrees but this could be because the encounters happened while the Yowie was hunting/feeding or they had young nearby. We also believe that just like most other mammals they must have individual personality traits developed through genetics and the environment they live in. The body issue is a valid one and always offered up by skeptics which is fair enough but hunters of big game especially predators will say how extremely rare to never it is of them finding carcasses in the wild. I don't fully understand the reason for this but it's a valid argument for why a Yowie body hasn't been produced. Anyway, from the many reports we have and our own experiences we know they exist but we don't expect someone that hasn't seen a Yowie or heard a Yowie to accept its existence. We need good skeptical analysis and we encourage and expect this to strengthen the case for the Yowie eventually being accepted as flesh and blood, Cheers John

I have long suspected that the government, one way or another, knows only too well that the 'Yowie' / the 'hairy man', is real. I heard that an adult Yowie was taken alive by an Army unit in SE Qld years ago. I believe the creatures' existence in our time is a scientific/ biological miracle, and they are possibly -- even likely to be -- the species/sub-species known as 'Gigantopithecus ', which were in SE Asia. I strongly believe the reason their existence is (deliberately) officially unacknowledged is for their protection. Just think, these creatures are early human beings -- or are a link in the developmental chain, on the way to becoming human beings. The moment a government announces they do indeed exist, would be to put a instant bounty on the head of every last one, the world over. Every gun-crazy would be out there to hunt them to extinction. They have survived by their bushcraft and would absolutely have varying personalities / temperaments, & protective instincts for their offspring. I read somewhere that we would be wise to treat them, in any potential witness encounter, with all the caution you would use with a saltwater crocodile. Super-fast, super-strong & inherently & understandably unpredictable. People and animals have been attacked, people alone in the bush have disappeared and many dogs (sadly) too.

Julie's story is frightening -- a truly cautionary tale, and I am heartbroken for the loss of her beloved old pet dog. I hope they are safe.
